“What a fun ride it has been!”

Adornit – Carolee's Creations just gets better every year!   2008 marks twelve years in the scrapbook industry and 22 years in the craft industry. This woman-owned, women-run company thrives on providing classic creations as well as the latest trends for every wholesale and retail customer. Carolee's Creations was one of the first companies to design products specifically for scrapbooking. "It's been an exciting journey with lots of fun, friends and creative energy along the way," says Carolee McMullin, founder and creative director. The company is now named Adornit as it expands to include home décor and digital scrapbooking.

How Carolee got started:     Carolee McMullin started her company, Carolee’s Creations, in 1986. Initially she designed and taught in the craft industry as a leader in the tole and decorative painting categories. Carolee published six tole-painting books, taught workshops at national conventions, and licensed her art to publishing and fabric companies. In 1996, Carolee observed that scrapbooking was a rapidly growing hobby. She took her first step into the scrapbook world with the publication of a clip-art CD. When Carolee's daughter Georgana began scrapbooking with her grandma, Carolee noticed that scrapbook supplies were very plain. She sketched some designs for papers & stickers and took them to a local printer. She published a catalog, attended trade shows, and her scrapbook business was launched. Carolee’s Creations has been a leading innovator in scrapbooking for over twelve years. Carolee has more ideas than ever, and now shares the operations of the company with her daughter Georgana Hall, Adornit president. Carolee's other two daughters Alison and Jackie also work in the family business, Alison as a graphic designer and Jackie in wholesale accounts.

Adornit is a trend-setter and leader in the scrapbook industry, creating the latest in patterned paper (including our popular word papers and ribbon), cardstock and dimensional stickers, chipboard albums, die cuts, metal accents, rub-ons, altered art, wood products, pattern books and more. Adornit also creates unique idea books as part of an innovative marketing strategy. Adornit is expanding to two new categories – digital scrapbooking and home décor. Adornit ships to scrapbook stores in our own backyard and all over the world. We appreciate our wonderful customers, both wholesale and retail—we owe so much of our success to you. Thank you, and happy scrapping!

Georgana's Story:

Georgana Hall, president of AdornIt, grew up in the craft industry helping her mom, Carolee, in the family's tole and decorative painting business. From a young age, Georgana attended trade shows, designed product, and helped teach classes. As the company grew and changed to scrapbooking, Georgana was by Carolee's side every step of the way. It’s no surprise that Georgana has now stepped into the role of president of AdornIt – Carolee's Creations.

Georgana tells her story: "My grandma started my scrapbooking addiction when I was twelve years old. She bought me scissors, templates, cardstock, page protectors, and a binder. Every summer I would go to stay with her for a week and what would we do? Shop and scrapbook. The pages I did back then are, of course, ancient, but I never want to re-do them because I can go back and remember when and where I scrapbooked them (and I can almost guarantee we were sipping Diet Pepsi). Not only are my pages precious, but also the memories of me assembling them with my grandma. Thank-you grandma."

Georgana is married to Eric and is mom to two darling boys, Boston and Daxton. They enjoy spending time together, camping, four wheeling, and traveling. In her "spare time" Georgana still loves to scrapbook, sew aprons and quilts, create home décor pieces, and plan for the bright future of Adornit. Georgana writes a fun blog which can be accessed through the Adornit website. Stop by for a visit!
